The abortion industry is a million-dollar business, and some even operate under a nonprofit status.
According to statistics shared by the National Right to Life Organization in 2006, the average cost of an abortion is $372, and each year, the abortion industry generates $400 million.
What seems to be the latest avenue to attract clients to Planned Parenthood is to open “express centers” in suburban shopping malls. At this time they do not perform abortions in these centers, but they are using them to hand out contraceptives, which in turn encourage more sexual behavior.
Planned Parenthood is in the process of building several of the largest abortion clinics here in the United States, a 50,000-square-foot clinic in Denver and a new six-story, 78,000-square-foot clinic in Houston that will have an entire floor devoted to abortions.
Planned Parenthood is not the only organization that has abortion clinics, but it is one of the largest nonprofit abortion providers. They receive millions of taxpayer dollars every year through government funds. According to their annual report for 2007-2008, Planned Parenthood clinics increated the number of abortions performed from 289,750 abortions in 2006 to 305,310 abortions in 2007.
